Global reference

  • Vendor: Intuit (QuickBooks)
  • Topic: Intuit Intelligence in international markets, including Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom according to the release datelines and press reports
  • Key date: Announced 14 October 2026
  • Status: Business features in beta; Accountant Suite availability varies by product and region

For businesses

  • Automations: describe a recurring task in plain language and it becomes a scheduled job.
  • Autonomous Invoicing: creates and sends invoices from customer documents, with reminders.
  • Conversational Custom Reports: reports from plain-language requests, including a forward-looking cash flow view.

For accountants

  • Cross-client portfolio insights across a firm’s client list.
  • Firm Playbooks to apply standard set-ups when onboarding clients.
  • A unified inbox for client requests and messages.

Intuit’s figures

  • Early adopters report saving about 13 hours a month.
  • Accountants report spending 30% more time on advisory work.
  • Intuit says regular AI use among businesses has reached nearly 70%, and that trust, not cost, is the top barrier to deeper adoption.
  • These are Intuit’s own figures, largely from the United States, as iTWire notes.

What to do now

  • Test autonomous invoicing on a small group of customers first, and check every invoice for a month.
  • Decide which automations may post or send without approval. Start with none.
  • Accounting firms: agree with clients who reviews AI-coded transactions, and set this out in the engagement letter.
  • Check where client data is processed and stored.

Our take

AI agents are reaching small businesses through the software they already use. That makes adoption easy and review easy to skip. The role of the accountant moves from data entry to checking and advising, and the engagement letter should say so.
