Federal budget: the 2026 yearbook and the 2027–2029 planning cycle
1 Oct 2026
Three Ministry of Finance announcements frame the UAE’s fiscal direction.
Budget Yearbook 2026 (13 March)
The Ministry released the Federal Budget Yearbook under the theme “Investing in People, Securing the Future”. The Minister of Finance described the 2026 budget as directing resources toward people, quality of life and long-term financial sustainability. The yearbook is published to support transparency and trust in fiscal policy.
Strategic plan 2027–2029 (18 June)
Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum launched the Ministry’s 2027–2029 Strategic Plan, aimed at making the financial system more efficient and reinforcing the UAE’s global financial standing.
General Budget Committee (1 October)
The UAE General Budget Committee held its 15th meeting to review the draft federal budget under the medium-term strategic plan for the 2027–2029 cycle.
Why finance leaders should watch
Federal budget priorities shape public spending in areas such as education, infrastructure and digital services, and so shape demand for private-sector suppliers. They also signal how tax and fee policy may evolve. Download the yearbook from the Ministry’s site to use the allocation figures in planning.
